Ross tours were able to give us every confidence before setting off that at the end of 14 days and 1,100 miles on our tandem we would be able to collapse into someone's car to begin the journey home and true to his word he was there for us after we crossed the finish line. There aren't many people who are able to help transport an awkwardly long tandem, but Geordie was both helpful and careful in packing up our treasured bike for the 90 minute transfer to the airport - thank-you very much for making a potentially highly stressful moment hassle-free.

In the summer of 2006 we successfully cycled the infamous long-distance route of John O' Groats to Land's End. As we had decided to tackle the journey from North to South, and seeing as we first had to travel from our home of Austria all the way to Scotland, we were confronted with the problem of how to get to the official starting point, the remote coastal town of John O' Groats, within the space of a single day. Thanks to Ross Tours our problems were solved! Prior to our trip Ross Tours provided useful tips and information regarding our planned route through Scotland and despite our flight arriving with a two hour delay they were waiting for us at Inverness Airport, taking both us and our precious bikes safely and quickly more than a hundred miles to John O' Groats. Our once-in-a-lifetime cycling adventure both began and ended well. Thanks again Ross Tours!

Catering to the whims and wishes of five women with varied interests might seem like a daunting task, but our guide, Geordie never seemed to flinch at any request. The five days that we spent travelling around Caithness, Orkney and Sutherland in his comfy bus were simply full of satisfied expectations and many unexpected surprises.
With just a few ideas of what we wanted to experience Geordie managed to fill each day with fabulous scenery, ancient sites, local humour and our favourite - history and legends.
Our experience has always been that local guides provide the best tours, and we have to say that Ross Tours certainly went above and beyond to customise the week just for us. We were always offered choices, never felt hurried and best of all: Geordie intuitively knows when it’s tea time!
Even before our flight back to the US, we were already planning our next Ross Tour. Life just doesn’t get any better than that.

On our recent journey to Scotland we encountered many different "Angels" who aided us in accomplishing the most arduous adventure of our lives. The first and greatest of these being George Ross, a man of honor, a gentleman, and a scholar (of Northern Scotland).
Little did we know upon arriving to the small airport of Inverness that the airport was not itself situated near the actual town. With little money, no food except for six Snickers bars to ration over the following five days, and a burning desire to start our biking journey across Scotland, we found ourselves in need of some means of transportation to the town of Inverness.
Because of the airport staff strongly discouraging us (prohibiting us) from both walking ten miles through the rainy night to Inverness or sleeping in the airport to await better options in the morning, it seemed our only option was to give in to the demanding requests of the taxi drivers.
When all hope for saving our food money seemed to be lost, a man named George Ross approached us and asked if he could be of any assistance. We explained to him of our vexing situation and he immediately offered us a ride for half the cost of a taxi. Realizing that this was our only option we accepted his proposal. Upon arriving to Inverness he directed us to the center of town, and as we handed him the ten pound note that we had agreed to give him for his services, he so beautifully said,
"Keep it, lads. Buy yourselves some breakfast with that money. You'll need it."
For two poor college lads attempting to bike across Scotland in the dead of February winter, these were indeed words spoken by an angel.
Cheers George!
